Personal Biodata

Richard J. Scherberger, Jr. is a certified organization development consultant and trainer. He has an M.P.S. in Counseling Psychology from Western Kentucky University and a B.A. in Political Science from Old Dominion University. He is a Certified Trainer of Workplace Mediation by the Mediation Training Institute (MTI); the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI); The Human Element (THE); and, the Leader Behavior Analysis (LBA) II. Richard is also a certified Instructional Systems Designer (ISD).

Richard is a member of the International Association of Coaching (IAC); the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), Huntsville Chapter; the Organization Development Network; and is a member of the International Registry of Associate Consultants. He is a corporate member of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA), and the Huntsville and Madison County Chamber of Commerce.

Since 1981, he has provided consulting and training services in both the public and private sectors, focusing on key leadership and management issues facing leaders in today's organizations. He is recognized for his work in organizational leadership and management development; organizational diagnosis; team building; strategic planning; performance management; organizational and interpersonal communications; conflict resolution; mentoring; and, coaching and counseling.

Richard was a member of the planning team that developed the strategic leadership planning process for US Army, Europe and was instrumental in the implementation of the performance management process used throughout the Army. Additionally, he planned, developed, and implemented the premier leadership and management development programs for civilian executives and interns used throughout the Army: Vision w/ Value, Culture and Climate (V2C2); Organizational Leadership for Executives (OLE); and, the Intern Leadership Development Course (ILDC). Richard also designed and developed the Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) course specifically for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia and presents this course throughout CDC to include international courses in Tanzania and Botswana. He designed and developed Effective Technical Teams: Essential Skills for Team Success and Leading Technical Teams currently used by the Department of the Army and the Department of the Air Force.

He is also the developer of MentorWorks®, a seven-phased approach to establishing mentor programs in organizations. Richard is the author and developer of the GRRREPPP® method of organizational diagnosis. His Team Conflict Survey is used by innumerable organizations and teams to determine the strength and assesses the impact of conflict on productivity. Richard's PRTNR® Model has been adopted and used by many teams to enhance team communication and collaboration.

Richard's credibility as a consultant and trainer using experiential learning systems is outstanding, and as a result, he has been called upon on countless occasions to train the trainers of many various organizations throughout the world.

In addition to his work in leadership and organization development, Richard has many years experience directing the activities of several highly successful, multifaceted, multi-cultural organizations in Europe, Asia, and the United States. He has also been a college instructor, serving on the faculties of the US Army Command and General Staff College and the Army Management Staff College, as well as serving as an adjunct professor at St. Mary College and the USDA Graduate School.
