Joaquín Salazar is a veteran professional in the field of human resources management. He has over thirty years' experience in labor management, consulting and training. His academic degrees are Bachelor in Education Summa Cum Laude from Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña, and M.A. in Clinical Psychology Magna Cum Laude from APEC University.
He has worked in several multinational companies, including Falconbridge Dominicana, Ltd., Gulf & Western Americas, Ltd., Consolidated Cigar Company, Ltd., American Airlines, Westinghouse Dominicana, Ltd., and Abbott Hospitals, Ltd., the last two as start-up Human Resources Manager for their operations in the Dominican Republic.
As a management trainer, Joaquín has organized or participated in management and supervision seminars in companies such as Shell-Wi, Inc., Warner Lambert, S.A., Falconbridge Dominicana, Ltd., and De la Rue, S.A.
His expertise is in effective management practices, the organization of the human resource function and conflict resolution, such as mediation techniques applied to labor disputes. He is a Certified Trainer at Mediation Training Institute International, and facilitates their Self Mediation and Managerial Mediation seminars. He is a county mediator certified by the Florida Supreme Court.
Joaquín has been a secondary school teacher at Notre Dame International School, in Rome, Italy, and Carol Morgan School of Santo Domingo, and professor at Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Ureña, and Universidad Madre y Maestra at its Bonao extension.
Joaquín speaks English, Spanish, and Italian with native fluency. He has gathered a group of local professionals and facilitators in the areas of management and administration whose talents are at the disposal of the companies and institutions that require their services.
